An OpenGL canvas broadens vc3d’s visualization options
A developer reported extracting an OpenGL canvas from a fibers3d contribution into a more general vc3d canvas. The discussion identified surface normals and isometry as possible overlays, alongside device-accelerated visualization. A later message said the work was in vc3d, but the conversation alone does not establish release availability or compatibility for every installation. Separately, contributors described a move toward vc_reader for tifxyz and zarr access, volume sampling and rendering; one piece of work was being held pending that transition. These are useful integration signals for tool builders, not independently checked release notes or evidence of improved reading accuracy.
